JRP Railway Transport

The JRP Rail Transport is a joint platform established through the collaboration between Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, together with some of the leading companies in the sector. The platform addresses the challenges of rail transport in an integrated manner, combining infrastructure, engineering, economics, and environmental sustainability.

Research activities cover strategic areas such as:

• Digitalization of railway infrastructures
• Predictive maintenance for commercial train fleets
• Reorganization of freight transport
• System interoperability and innovation

With a strongly multidisciplinary approach, the platform engages expertise in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering, electronics, computer science, and telecommunications.
